With over 33 years of experience in security and risk management for large-scale events across varying levels of risk, Julio Colón is a trusted advisor, consultant, and trainer in comprehensive security at both operational and managerial levels. He is the Founding Director of the Chamber of Security of Guatemala and a member of the Business Council for Road Safety.
Mr. Colón has served as the Coordinator of inter-institutional security commissions for the National Football Federation during FIFA events, overseeing security for the national team. He has also acted as General Security Coordinator for high-profile events with over 100,000 spectators and as Coordinator of Security Commissions for governmental entities, including the National General Elections of the Electoral Boards of Guatemala’s Department and Central District under the Supreme Electoral Tribunal.
He was a member of the Security Operations Center during the 2018 Population and Housing Census, contributing to the Early Warning System and the Incident Command System for high-risk events. Mr. Colón is also a graduate of Bircham International University in Madrid, Spain, where he earned his specialization in Comprehensive Security. His expertise has been shared at conferences, congresses, and think tanks, and he has published articles on security matters in digital media.
